Home Energy Improvement Program
​The Home Energy Improvement Program (HEIP) empowers eligible households to enhance their home's energy efficiency, reduce energy usage, and improve indoor air quality. By implementing qualifying energy-saving improvements, homeowners can receive rebates to offset costs, lower energy bills, and increase comfort.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the HEIP program:

For households larger than 8, add $10,760 per year for each additional household member.
Program Options
HEIP offers two pathways to earn rebates:

Individual Improvements:
Receive up to $750 in rebates for specific energy-efficient upgrades. -
Whole House Improvements:
Achieve a 20% reduction in electric energy usage to qualify for rebates up to $1,250.
Eligible Improvements
Participants can undertake various improvements, including:

Attic Insulation: Enhance insulation to maintain indoor temperatures and reduce heating/cooling costs.

Air Sealing: Seal gaps and cracks to prevent drafts and improve comfort.

Duct Sealing: Fix leaks in HVAC ductwork to ensure efficient heating and cooling.

Smart Thermostats: Install Wi-Fi-enabled thermostats to optimize energy usage.

Heat Pump Water Heaters: Upgrade to energy-efficient water heating systems.
Note: Some improvements may require installation by a participating program contractor or licensed professional.
Rebate Details

Smart Thermostat: 75% of cost, up to $200

Heat Pump Water Heater: 50% of cost, up to $1,000
Rebates are capped at $750 for individual improvements and $1,250 for whole-house improvements.
