Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates
The Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) Program assists low- and moderate-income households in Georgia by providing rebates for the purchase and installation of specific energy-efficient appliances and upgrades. This initiative aims to reduce energy consumption, lower utility bills, and promote the adoption of clean energy solutions.
Eligibility Criteria
Income Requirement: Your household income must be at or below 150% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for your county.
Rebate amounts are determined by household income relative to your county's AMI.
Note: Specific income thresholds vary by county. Please refer to the HUD Income Limits Data for detailed information.
Eligible Measures and Incentives
Participants can receive rebates for the following ENERGY STAR™ qualified products and upgrades:

Heat Pump Water Heater: Up to $1,750

Heat Pump for Space Heating or Cooling: Up to $8,000

Electric Stove, Cooktop, Range, Oven, or Heat Pump Clothes Dryer: Up to $840

Electric Load Service Center (Breaker Box/Electrical Panel): Up to $4,000

Insulation, Air Sealing, and Ventilation: Up to $1,600
-
Electric Wiring: Up to $2,500
The total maximum rebate per household is $14,000.
Installer Requirements: All installations must be performed by an approved contractor.
Important Notes:

Replacing an existing electric appliance with a new electric appliance is not eligible for rebates.

Upgrading an electric kitchen appliance to an induction appliance is not eligible.

Clothes dryers are eligible if upgrading from an electric dryer to a heat pump dryer.

Electric tank water heaters are eligible if upgrading to a heat pump water heater.
